Our Company was established in 1926 by Capt. Mario F. Martinoli and at that time used to operate under it’s founder’s name as agents and as bunker suppliers and ship-brokers.
When the “Aquila” Refinery commenced its activity in 1937, we became its sole agent and started our life-long relationship with the world of oil.
In the years around World War II the firm expanded greatly as a liner, brokerage and passenger agency while assistance to tankers was a sideline until 1967 when the opening of TAL/SIOT Transalpine Pipeline induced the shareholders to establish an independent Company, named Agenzia Marittima Triestina, specialized in the oil-tanker business which would avail itself of the direct cooperation and experience of new partners.
Ever since that time, Agenzia Marittima Triestina, with has become through the years AMTriestina, has regularly handled approximately 50 percent of the entire traffic using the local pipeline terminal.
Through-out the years, old shareholders resigned and during last 25 years the whole property of the Company became part of Guicciardi family Group.
